Kings Peak 2009. Matts church group.

This King Peak trip there was 8 of us.  Matt with his church group and me. Its always good meeting new people.

Lagoon with Dallin on the Sling Shot.

 Dallin found the video on this Lagoon trip that we did.  As I recall the story.  Year before Melissa and I went on the Sky Coaster and it scared my pretty bad.  The next year, Stephanie wanted a turn and I did the Sky Coaster again and scared me worse.  Dallin turn was next year.  My fear was to great, not more Sky Coaster.  So we did the Sling Shot.  When watching the video, look at the background.  You can see the cage that we are in going above the crowds in the park.   I also have no desire to do this one again.  

Moab with Dallin. Hummer tours

Moab with Dallin.  Found a camp site in the middle of Moab to pitch our tent. Toured around Arches National park and Dead Horse point.  Thinking of what else can we do and found Hummer tours.  I highly recommend it.  Great 2 hours of fun. 
That weekend it rained red mud.  The wind was blowing enough that we could not see across the valleys.

Blue John, Main fork with Brian and 3 others.

Main Fork - one mile of the main fork forms a deep, narrow canyon, and a quarter of this is a dark slot. The upper end descends steeply, by 100 feet over a distance of about 200 feet, so is easiest to explore in the downstream direction though even here a rope may be needed.

Since the party was large enough different groups went down different sections.  4 of us decided to try the main fork.  Very tight slot canyons, dark the the last part so dark that we would have to down climb into black.  It was decided to go back.  There is not a way out of this slot canyon.  We would have to make a human pyramid so the guy on top could get out.  Tied the rope to some rock to let the rest of us out.
