South Nebo Peak hiking, w/Matt, Darryl, Carlos and Tom

This is just a day trip with friends from work. Climbing the South Nebo peak.  It was raining part of the day.  As we made the ridge line, we could see the next storm coming with lighting.  The storm just when past us hours earlier, we did not realize until we heard the thunder that we was above it.   Carlos, heard the thunder, dropped his hiking sticks and ran 2 mile back down the trail.  The rest of us not as smart and continued hiking to the South peak.  We collected Carlos's hiking sticks and found him a couple of hours later.

Hiking with Matt, Darryl, Carlos, and Tom Jarman.

South peak is at 11,877ft and 1 of 2 summits.   North peak at 11,933ft. Mount Nebo is the southern most and highest mountain in the Wasatch range of Utah.

Coyote Butte, The Wave, w/Wade and other from Wades church group.

Wade, friend from work stated that someone just dropped out and he had an extra spot on his permit to go to the Wave.  If I wanted to go, he had a friend that I could ride with.  I left work that day and called Julie while on the road stating that I would not be home that night.

While in Kanab, sleeping on the hotel room floor.  The town had the biggest rain down pore that I ever seen.  Waking up the next morning the town was flooded.

Getting to the Wave is not a marked trail and only let 20 people per day on the trail that is monitored with a 14% change if getting the permit to the wave.  5.2 miles.
