Grand Canyon 2nd time. w/John

This trip John and Rebecca picked me up at Jacob Lake.  Drove to the South side to spend the night, then Rebecca drove to the North side while John and I hiked.  Started out a few hours before sun up.  

No issues on the general hike.  Stopping at  Ribbon Falls.  It ended up raining on us for the last hour of the hike.  Rebecca stating the she was driving in 4 inches of snow.  

AF canyon Silver Lake hike and campout with grand kids.

Decided to go backpacking and do an overnighter with the grandkids.  Silver lake in the AF canyon.  Ricky, Desmond, Noah, Bobby. I ended going up the wrong direction, up a very steep, rocky hill side.  Way lucky that no one got hurt.  Pitched tents.  Tried some fishing.  Long night as I recall.  Long trip back to the car.  We need to do this again.  

Leavitt reunion. Oregon Coast.

Crater Lake.  What a pretty place.  Went back the next day did some hiking and booked a boat ride.  toured wizard island and did some swimming with the rest of the people in our group.  very clear lake. 

At the reunion we 6 of us went fishing on Gariboldi fishing tours.  Very fun, rock fish with some crabs. 

Carries whale watching tours in depoe bay.   and seeing the whales up very close. 

Pacific City coast and sand dunes. 

Idaho Sawtooths backpacking. w/Matt, Nathan.

Idaho sawtooth backpacking with Matt and son Nathan.  Alpine and Cramer lakes.  To get to the trailhead at Redfish lake, we needed to take a boat ride to get dropped off.  Then to boat would return a few days later to pick us up.   

First stop Alpine lake, no fires in this drainage. 

3 Cramer lakes, could build fires if you have a fire blanket or pan.  

Made a summit run to one of passes, then return back to camp. 

Had to cross the river, keeping the wet boots on for the rest of the trip.

The last 5 mile boat ride was done in 4 mins.   yee haw.
