Camping with the grandkids.

This year thing ended up slightly different for our family.  In such that we enjoyed our visit with our kids and grandkids.

First off, Steph was planning a camping trip and invited us to come along.  Thinking this could be a great time for some bonding.  I suggested Salamander Flats in the American fork canyon.  The camping was fine.  Just alot of people there and would not recommend to go this same area again.

2nd trip Julie and I planned a trip to Mirror Lake.  Then later asked Dallin and family if they would like to go  with us.  Would recommend this place and would go again.  3day, 2 nights.

3rd trip was asking Melissa if she was interested.  Knowing that  her schedule was different, found I week that would work.  Booked I site at Moosehorn Campground.  This campground sites were rough, rocky, not level.  So more challenging.  If you picked the right camp site, it would be a great place to go back to.

Returning home. Julie and I checked out many other camp site to see if there was one that we would like to go visit.  Did not found one that it was a must to return to.  Will need to investigate more.

The following are the videos taken from all 3 trips this year.

Red Castle Lake with Matt and David.

Great time in the Unitas with Matt and David.  The 20min you tube using shotcut tells most of the story.  Came home a day early, then found out that night 1 to 3 inch of snow.  Good call to come home early

Battle creek to Grove creek bike wreck

Bike wreck.   Happened between Battle Creek and Grove Creek on the 4 wheel drive road.  Going down a Hill too fast too many rocks and too much front brake.   After riding 5 miles to get home Julie said I need stitches. We gave steph a call and helped us out with 2 stitches. Thanks steph

Moab bike ride

I have always heard of slick rock in moab for a bike trail.  Wow, what a ride.  I only did an hour and did not get the far before I turned around.   I was doing this all solo.

Trying to find a place to tent camp.  Called and they stated they had some open spots.  Was there in 10 minutes and the doors were locked.  Covid-19 stated that they were not taking in any new sites.  I talked them into letting me stay.

Found easier bike trail 2 miles from Moab, Brand trails.   These trails more my speed and easier to ride.  Bike frame broke again just about as far from the parking lot as you could get.   1.5hr walk back to the parking lot then on the way back home.

Covid 19 on the radio, was stating that the entire county is going to lock down.  All camping locations to not take in any more people.  The one that are currently there could still till the end of there contracts.

Snowshoe season pics.

Great season snowshoeing.  Typically in the back of the pack.   The Velo group is very prompt and they only rest for a minute before going again.

Snowshoeing Mill Canyon Peak. With UtahVelo club.

Every year the UtahVelo bike club summits Mill Canyon Peak on New Years Day.  I've met this club a few years ago while snowshoeing.  For the last couple of years I've been following them every Saturday morning when they go out for a 4 hour trek
Club has taught me a different way to snowshoe along with a new side of the mountain and appreciation for the outdoors.  Also making new friends along the way.  I'm glad that they let me tag along.  I love there adventures and a new side of the mountain that I have not seen before.
